From the Desk of ... Congressman Walter Jones

Dear Friends,

I am forwarding a radio ad my campaign is running right now that focuses on protecting our borders and the problem of illegal immigration.

I hope you will agree with what you hear in the ad.

As a member of the Armed Services Committee, I am deeply concerned about the growing national problem of illegal immigration which affects not only our national security, but also overburdens our healthcare systems and our schools.

For me, the bottom line is this – we should not reward people who break our laws by coming to this country illegally. It is unfair to the countless productive citizens who followed the rules and obeyed our laws to come here legally and become part of the American dream.

Through your generous support we can share this message with voters throughout the 3rd Congressional District. I have also sent you some other legislation I have supported.

Please take a moment to:

Many thanks,

Congressman Walter B. Jones

NOTES from Congressman Jones…

Border Security is National Security

“Border protection is critical to our national security and economy. The illegal immigration crisis is causing higher taxes for social services, higher costs for health insurance, and it costs our public schools millions every year. The time has come to reform and enforce our immigration policies.”

Congressman Walter Jones
NC 3rd District

This year, Congressman Jones has already supported:

H.R. 418, the Real ID Act

• Provides for funding to heighten border security and port enforcement with the recruiting and training of 2,000 new border agents, streamlines counter-terrorism and intelligence-gathering efforts, increases analytic expertise, and improves readiness through training exercises. Passed by the House

House Concurrent Resolution 50
• Strongly expresses disapproval of the current totalization agreement with Mexico that gives benefits to illegal immigrants—which undermines our Social Security system and rewards illegal behavior. Original Cosponsor

H.R. 3622, Border Protection Corps Act
• Allows law abiding citizens to defend our nation’s borders as members of a lawful militia force under the mand of the governor. Original Cosponsor

HR. 1986
