Bertie Daniel Arnhols - Candidate, Beaufort County Commissioner

Bertie, a Beaufort County native, comes from a long line of Beaufort County citizens. Her father and grandfather were commercial fishermen.  Born and raised in South Creek in Richland Township, she has headed shrimp, picked crabs, handed tobacco, and picked cotton.   She recalls her childhood memories with great pride.

Bertie married and moved to Washington, DC, where she worked for a Federal Government agency, Export-Import Bank, and several technology corporations, performing duties requiring a Top Secret security clearance.  Bertie later joined IBM and stayed for  25 years, retiring after 8 years in administration and 17 years in management, of which 12 years were in Research Triangle Park, her home state of NC.

Since returning home to South Creek, Bertie has been active in her community, serving on the boards of the Department of Social Services and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce.  For many years she has volunteered at her church, producing youth holiday programs.

Bertie believes to make A Better Beaufort:

bullet

Our resources and tax dollars should be used on our citizens — not illegal immigrants.

bullet

More focus on development and infrastructure issues and concerns is needed in areas of projected growth.

bullet

We must all work together to improve our public education system.

Bertie is ready to serve you as your County Commissioner.  She welcomes your suggestions and wants to know your concerns.  She also looks forward to meeting as many of you as possible as she campaigns throughout Beaufort County.
