2009 Beaufort County Republican Party Convention

Outgoing Chairman Ashley Woolard

Convention Chairman Bob Pruett

Newly Elected Chairman Larry Britt

The annual convention of the Beaufort County Republican Party was held Wednesday night at the Beaufort County Community College. Republicans from all over Beaufort County were in attendance as new officers and committee members were elected and plans were announced for renewed efforts to rebuild the Party in Beaufort County.

Several candidates for North Carolina State GOP Chairman were also in attendance and made their bid for the vote of the Beaufort County delegation at the NC State Convention in June. Chad Adams, former vice president of the John Locke Foundation, announced he had taken a leave of absence from his job to devote his entire time raising funds for the Party and leading an effort to return NC Republicans to their Conservative roots. Another candidate, Tom Fetzer, former Mayor of Raleigh also promised a return to Conservatism and touted his abilities for raising money which is crucial to elect Republicans to office.

Larry Britt was elected Beaufort County Republican Party Chairman for the 2009-2010 term. The new Executive Committee consists of past members with extensive experience as well as new members with enthusiasm and new ideas. This combination promises an exciting time for our Republican community. Chairman Britt said that we have the people and the ideas in Beaufort County to not only advance Conservative beliefs but to increase Republican voter registration
